So I've been surfing around a lot lately, and have re-affirmed my interest in the God, Inc series on YouTube. I think this should be a network sitcom, I really do. These short episodes are great!
So this entry is going to be short on thought, and long on hilarity........
God, Inc. - Episode 1
God, Inc. - Episode 2
God, Inc. - Episode 3
God, Inc. - Episode 4
God, Inc. - Episode 5
God, Inc. - Episode 6
OK, I lied, I am going to continue with some more comments.
Along with God, Inc I have also been watching a lot of Robot Chicken these days. Funny, funny stuff! Someone had mentioned to me a couple weeks ago about Robot Chicken, and once I watched the first minute of one episode.....I was a fan.
So what does all of this say about me?
Um.....
Well, ok let's not get too serious about it all. I am not sure whether you can come to any hard and fast conclusions about me simply by a couple of viewing habits.
It does show I like funny things.
oooo
that sounds so backwoods it's not funny. And there's that word again.....funny. I seem to be using an inordinate amount of "funny's" in this blog entry.
Should it matter?
The funny thing? Like the fact I'm using the word funny too much....not the fact I like things that are funny?
And then you have to ask what in the hell is this guy on about now? IS he actually debating whether or not to use the word funny as much as he has been?
Strange....very strange. Yet I can't stop typing!
On a totally unrelated topic, I think they should add the word "blather" to the dictionary.
So let's talk about this week's American Idol shows. Horrendous!
They voted out Brandon, which I think is an alright choice. But truly, the person who should have gone home this week was Sanjaya! Sweet Jesus, what is the public thinking?
That boy needs to go home. He needs to buy some confidence, and wait for his voice to change.
And to tell you the truth.....he freaks me out a little. He's a little too happy, and shy, and tee hee hee'ish.
Even when the judges are telling him he is awful, he looks like a deer in the headlights, and can't seem to comprehend why they are telling him these things.
IT'S BECAUSE YOU STINK UP THE STAGE CONSISTENTLY DUDE!
Oh my, I used the word dude......that will either date me, or .....yeah it will just date me.
I don't care.
Alright, I have had enough. I need some food, and some sleep.
Laterz.

The Idiocy Continues
I will admit, I have a penchant for American Idol (and Canadian Idol for that matter).
It amazes me, however, how people vote for the bad singers near the beginning of this competition. And I won't sugar coat this, Antonella Barba should have gone home tonight. But, in all their wisdom, the voters have decided good looks are apparently more important in a singing competition than singing talent is.
Yipes!
Pretty scary!
I don't think she was utterly awful, but there are far more talented individuals who should still be around on the show, rather than her.
And I am not an Antonella hater.....I am simply not, in any way, shape, or form, an Antonella fan.
I have also created a new word to explain the strange phenomenon of voting for craptastic singers on this show.....I call it Barbonics!
The definition is as follows: The art of voting for sub-standard singing, in a competition based mostly on ones singing abilities.
Using Barbonics, crappy singers can get far in this competition.
Hurray, hurray, let's all celebrate mediocrity!

In The Moment
So I was thinking back to some earlier days on the internet for myself. I had, at one time, a personal web page where I would post updates every so often. Interwoven in these updates were links to cool pages people could click on.
I thought this was sweet hot!
I thought I was an innovator!
Well, ok maybe not an innovator, but surely a copycatter!
Yes sir, I could copy html script like it was nobody's business. It got to the point where I started to learn a little html code. I did in fact learn some html code, but not enough to do anything unbelievable on my own. I could make some cool things happen on a page, but for the most part, I needed to check out html help pages, or look through other people's source code to see how they coded certain things. Personally I think that's still how a lot of amateur html coders do it, me included.
But I don't really see it as stealing out right. I am learning how someone did something cool, copying the gist of it, and tweaking it slightly to serve my own purposes. scavenging is probably a more appropriate word for what I do.
I should also mention I have not actually created much of anything lately. And by lately, I mean about 3 years.
So what's my point here? I'm not sure. I just started typing and this is what came out.
Maybe this is something along the lines of stream-of-consciousness typing.
I don't think I will mention the break-up right now either. For the record, it was a good decision on my part, and let's leave it at that.
I watched some TV tonight - Seinfeld, Friends, American Idol, Smart as a 5th Grader, and the Wedding Singer. All the while typing away on the computer replying to emails, surfing for lyrics, and downloading songs on Limewire. Yes indeed, I am a child of the multi-tasking age.
I love it though. I think part of why I love my job, and am good at it are that I can do multiple things at once, and do them well.
Of course, in these fast-paced times, multi-tasking is almost a prerequisite for most jobs.
I guess it's time to make my lunch for tomorrow, and think about getting some shut-eye as well. Need to be bright eyed and bushy tailed for the morning grind!

Note to self - you're better off alone
And another relationship bites the dust!
So what though. I know it's for the best, and I am not sad. But it still weighs on my mind.
I am currently taking a few days off work to get over the whole thing, and I will post something more about it later. For now, back to Battlefield 1942......

Update - How Original
So posting t your blog after a few months of inactivity is pretty pathetic. How much time would it really take to post once a week even? Not very much. Yet the majority of us will start a blog, be really into it for a short time, then forget about it for weeks or months, and in some cases years.
What eventually happen, is you have to post an update. Something to catch people up on what's been going on in your world since the last time you posted to your blog. You feel obligated to post this update, because everyone must be on pins and needles wondering how your life is going!
At this point one of three things will happen:
1 - You will start posting to blog all the time, and keep it updated from now on.
2 - You will continue to do these "update" posts for the next year of two, posting every few months with another sob story of why you haven't posted more frequently.
3 - You will never post to your blog again.
Option 2 and 3 are the most common. 95% of all blogs spaces created are likely inactive. 4% are in the "update" mode. And 1% or less are active blogs, with varying numbers of readers or subscribers.
Sadly, my blog here will most likely end up as option 3, with a short stop-over at option 2. I will probably say I will try posting more.....but will that ever happen? Who knows.
So let's get on with the "update".
Got back together with the girlfriend. Actually, we didn't really break up originally, she just needed "time to herself". So I gave her the time, we talked afterwards, and the relationship ended up being stronger because of it all.
And no, no details, just simply we are back together.
Been working on my house, doing some painting inside, and little repairs/renovations. It is surprising what a little bit of paint can do to a place.
Work is going well. Got a promotion back in late October 2006, and I haven't been fired yet. :P
I think that's enough for now. Let's wait and see whether I log back in any time soon.
